CATHY CANTER, a first-grade teacher at St. Margaret Mary Catholic School in Slidell, has been honored with the 2013 Distinguished Teacher Award by the American Petroleum Institute’s Delta Chapter. The award was presented during a luncheon on Aug. 13.
ST. MARY’S ACADEMY, seniors Darian Vining and Ka’cell El-Mansura received a $2,500 Betty Hayes Kids First Scholarship for 2013-14 school term. They completed service projects to benefit children in need, in the spirit of Kids First and Cultural Care colleague Betty Hayes. Both were given video cameras to record their service projects.
