LOUISIANA RIGHT TO LIFE will gather statewide for its 2022 “Together for Life” pro-life marches. Three of the marches will be Jan. 22: Life March Southwest, beginning at 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park at the Lake Charles Civic Center; Life March South, beginning at 10 a.m. at the State Capitol front lawn; and Life March Northwest, at 9:45 a.m. near the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. Two other marches are Jan. 23: Life March Northeast, at 1:45 p.m. at First West, 311 Mill St., West Monroe, followed by the march; and Life March Cenla, Feb. 5, beginning at 10 a.m. at Louisiana College, 1140 College Drive, in Pineville. DR. MICHAEL G. GRIFFIN, president and CEO of DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC), received the Louisiana Primary Care Association’s (LPCA) 2021 Community Health Care Excellence Award Nov. 11 for exemplifying passion and commitment to improving the care and quality of life for patients. Griffin recently established a clinical experience agreement with A.T. Still University (ATSU), a founding institution of osteopathic medicine that trains students from ATSU’s Physician Assistant (PA) programs. The first student cohort began its year of training at DCHC in September 2021. Among other accomplishments: Griffin received a $262,000 annual federal grant to establish the Insurance Navigator Program at DCHC. Griffin also serves on the boards of the Louisiana Primary Care Accountable Care Organization, United Healthcare FQHC Advisory Board, Aetna Better Health of Louisiana Provider Advisory Council, the non-profit board of Legatus New Orleans and the New Orleans African American Museum. Griffin holds a master of Science-Public Health degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, and received a Doctor of Science degree in Administration-Health Services from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
