LAST SUPPER BROUGHT TO LIFE, 20th consecutive year production of Leonardo DaVinci’s famous painting at Our Lady of Pompeii Church on Palm Sunday, April 14, 7 p.m., 14450 LA-442, Tickfaw. Nineteen cast members and six narrators including production director Virginia Patecek bring to life the dramatic moments when Jesus reveals that one of his own will betray him soon. Viewers glimpse into the apostles’ background and what each may have been thinking at hearing of the impending betrayal. Courtney Daussat sets the mood immediately as sacred Gregorian chant fills the church.
BROTHER MARTIN HIGH SCHOOL, named Milton Dureau, class of 1969, as its Senator J. Ellender Alumnus of the year for being dedicated to family and career and a faith-filled Christian disciple who is a role model to students. At Brother Martin, Milton served on the Cor Jesu Class of 1969 reunion committee; the Celebration of the Crest auction committee (chair couple in 1997 with wife Christine); Parents Club board of directors; the Trey Culotta Wrestling Tournament Committee; Alumni Board of Directors; President’s Dinner Committee and the Phase III Campaign Committee. He is a Society of 1869 member. After Cor Jesu, Milton graduated from Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1973 and worked with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office as a forensic drug chemist, was promoted to crime laboratory director in 1988 and assisted in the establishment of a DNA Laboratory in 2000. He was named commander of scientific services in 2009 and retired in 2011 after more than 38 years. He serves as a basketball referee for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association and received the archdiocesan Order of St. Louis Medallion in 2003. He serves on the Congregation of St. Joseph People Program board of directors and is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Louisiana Association of Forensic Scientists. He has four children and three grandchildren.
