Cabrini High School Science teacher Kathy Gosciniak received the prestigious 2017 Drake Award April 19 by the Louisiana Section of the American Chemical Society.
The Drake Award goes to an outstanding local high school teacher who is using innovative pedagogy in the classroom. Gosciniak teaches chemistry at Cabrini High and holds a bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering from Case Western University and graduate education certification in chemistry. She served as a senior battery engineer forEveready Battery Companyand a senior research engineer for General Dynamics, and is a certified advanced placement teacher for Chemistry II and computer science principles. She is a member of Louisiana Science Teacher Association, the National Science Teacher Association and the American Chemical Society.
