Archbishop Gregory Aymond used the occasion of the annual Respect Life Mass for Catholic school students Sept. 28 at St. Dominic Church in New Orleans to urge students to embrace the new Battle of New Orleans against violence, murder and racism. He said behaviors such as bullying “slices through the heart of another person. It has no place in our homes, on the field, in our schools. That is violence.”
Referring to the Mass logo depicting the Mississippi River and St. Louis Cathedral, the archbishop said “we must stay on the river of peace by respecting life every day.”
