At the recent 113rd Annual Knights Of Columbus, Louisiana State Convention, the Ascension of Our Lord, Council 9623, Laplace, was recognized as the top council in the state for the second consecutive year and for five of the past six years. The council had a perfect score of 1,000 points, representing accomplishments in administration and activities.
The council also was awarded the Community Service Award, for The Hurricane Harvey Project, where members went to southwest Louisiana and eastern Texas to cook and bring supplies families affected by the hurricane.
The council was also awarded The Youth Service Project, for repairing the girls' and the boys' softball fields at Ascension of Our Lord, teams.
