On May 15, Ascension of Our Lord, Knights of Columbus, Council 9623, awarded Katherine Bergeron with a plaque as the winner of the International Soccer Challenge Competition at her seventh-grade graduation. Katherine placed first in the 13-year-old age group of the local soccer competition, first in the Archdiocesan Soccer Challenge Competition and first at State Soccer Challenge. Her winning totals were deemed best in the world in the 13-year-old age group. Pictured from left are Katherine Bergeron and Grand Knight Mike Abbate.
The same day and ceremony, Bergeron was awarded the annual Piovan Memorial Scholarship Program along with student Aimee Dauenhauer to help defray the cost of tuition when they attend St Charles Catholic High School. From left, Dauenhauer, Abbate and Bergeron.
