Academy of Our Lady seniors Meghan Autin, Ashely Lassere, Kelly Herrera, Faith Bailey, Cailey Rousseau, Savanah Carroll and juniors Katelynn Nguyen, Helen Tsehaye, Chelsey Termine and Hannah Mauduit successfully completed the ServSafe: Food Protection Manager Certification fulfilling a requirement in their ProStart I elective class. Academy of Our Lady is the only Catholic high school in Louisiana to participate in the ProStart program, which allows students to learn all facets of the culinary industry. This elective opportunity is offered to Academy students as part of the school’s Program of Academic Majors which grants students the opportunity to concentrate their high school electives on an interest they may wish to pursue in college. Concentrations include health science, law and civil leadership, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and culinary arts. The Program of Academic Majors is offered in addition to the Academy’s required college-preparatory curriculum.
