All Saints Parish, 1441 Teche St. in Algiers, will celebrate its centennial with Masses and other celebrations Nov. 1-3.
All Saints was established by the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 1919 and staffed by the Josephite Fathers. The church was created as a non-segregated place of worship for African Americans on the West Bank of New Orleans.
The centennial theme is “Guided by the Light of Faith for the First 100 years: Marching Onward by Faith, Hope and Love towards the Future.”
Festivities will begin on All Saints’ Day with Masses at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
A Centennial Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Gregory Aymond Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. This mass will be followed by a reception in the parish hall.
On Sunday, Nov. 3, a Celebration Banquet will be held. Tickets are $40. Contact the Parish Office at 361-8835 ticket availability.
