The motto “Charity Leads to Perfection” is practiced throughout the school year by Archbishop Hannan High School students in Covington. Hannan campus minister Leila Benoit coordinates grade-level service projects in the community. The junior class was up first to work this school year with Habitat for Humanity. Students were given assignments on how to determine if applicants fit the criteria to be accepted into the program and how to complete paperwork and a screening process for approval. Students also went on a job site and did painting, hung siding and built porches. Above, student Madison Huckabee holds a piece of plywood as fellow students Mason Bennett, Giavanna St. Philip, Bryton Gunther and a Habitat worker hammer it into place.
Student Mackenzie Hake, right, uses a contractor’s rule “to measure twice, cut once” before she cuts a piece of siding.
