Abp. Aymond warns about threats to religious liberty

Archbishop Gregory Aymond is in Rome on an ad limina visit to meet with Pope Benedict XVI and Vatican officials.

He has issued a letter, which he has asked pastors to read at every Mass in the Archdiocese of New Orleans this weekend, describing the “unprecedented attack on religious liberty” by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which has madated that even religious emplyers and organizations provide health coverage for birth control — including abortifacients — and surgical sterilization.
