Leah Kennedy of De La Salle won the girls’ shot put at the Jim Bickford Invitational Track and Field meet at Chalmette High School on March 15. Kennedy’s winning throw of 38 feet, 5 inches edged second-place Bailey Braud of Cabrini. Other Catholic school winners were Archbishop Hannan’s Carolina Standley, javelin (121-1); Victor Harvey, 800 meters (2:03); and Nolan Taylor, boys’ 3,200 meters (10:32.22); Mount Carmel’s Hope Shales, girls’ 3,200 meters (12:03) and the Academy of Our Lady’s 400-meter relay team (51.11).
