Normally, Santa Claus arrives by boat on Bayou St. John in front of Cabrini High School, but this year, the weather did not cooperate and Santa resorted to Rudolph Plan B. Students, faculty and staff, alumnae, parents and community members braved the rain Dec. 8 to greet Santa at Cabrini’s annual Christmas on the Bayou.
Mass kicked off the evening in the gym, followed by a living nativity and Christmas performances by the Cabrini cheerleaders, the Eclipse dance team and Auxiliary flag team. The Cabrini Chamber Ensemble and Crescent Cradle Daycare students sang Christmas carols in anticipation of Santa’s arrival. Santa Claus and his elves took pictures with the children, and everyone enjoyed hot chocolate, cookies and treats, compliments of the Cabrini Dads’ Club.
