A day set aside to invoke the saints’ intercession

Divine Word Father Emanuel Tanu celebrated Mass inside Our Lady Star of the Sea Church and then walked one block to bless the tombs at St. Roch Cemetery.

Father Peter Finney III, pastor of St. Rita Church in New Orleans, walked through St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1, above, and then visited, with Mervin Galland and his wife Lucille. Mervin’s parents, Monroe and Yvonne Galland, are buried in the family tomb at St. Patrick No. 2.

After celebrating an outdoor Mass on Nov. 1, Archbishop Gregory Aymond blessed the tombs at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 with Father Jonathan Hemelt.
