The Archdiocese of New Orleans will offer the sacrament of confession in every church parish on three consecutive Wednesday evenings (March 27, April 3 and April 10) from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Archbishop Gregory Aymond said he hoped the wide availability of confession would aid Catholics on their Lenten journey.
“As we identify an area of our life that needs change, we can be assured of God’s help for us to face our weakness and experience a change of heart,” the archbishop said. “Lent should include standing before our merciful God and asking for his forgivenness in the sacrament of reconciliation, better known as confession.”
