A GARDEN DISTRICT CHRISTMAS CONCERT, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Dec. 9, at 4 p.m., preceding 5 p.m. Mass. 1307 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans.  New Orleans’ finest musicians with the Good Shepherd Choir. Mixture of the familiar and unfamiliar compositions by Adolphe Adam, Jehan Alain, Georges Bizet, Benjamin Britten, Charles Gounod, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Cesar Franck, Calvin Hampton, Nicola A. GOD’S SPECIAL CHILDREN, FAMILIES, FRIENDS, Dec. 9, 2 p.m., St. Francis Xavier. The Knights of Columbus and Daughters of Isabella from St. Francis Xavier will host their annual Christmas Party immediately after Mass in the cafeteria. The God’s Special Children bell choir will perform by playing a couple of Christmas carols.

ALL SAINTS CATHOLIC CHURCH, special Christmas Blue Mass on Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m. This Mass is a Nativity celebration without all the joyous hymns to help individuals who are “blue” due to the loss of a loved one, a divorce, loss of job or other circumstances that can create sadness or depression. GOD’S NORTHSHORE BLESSINGS, has instituted two Masses for God’s Children (of all ages) with special needs and their families: Dec. 16, Our Lady of the Lake in Mandeville, and Dec. 23 at St. Luke in Slidell.
