UNIVERSITY OF HOLY CROSS, book signing by local author John Pope, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. at the University of Holy Cross Chapel, 4123 Woodland Drive, Algiers. He will sign his book, “Getting Off at Elysian Fields,” a compilation of obituaries Pope wrote while working at The Times-Picayune newspaper.  Event is open to the public, with refreshments starting at 6:30 p.m. Hosted by Friends of the Blaine S. RITA, Home and School Association, celebrates Feast Day of St. Nicholas Dec. 6, 8:30 a.m., 194 Ravan Ave., Harahan.  St. Nicholas (dressed in bishop’s clothing) visits lower school classes to read stories about the Catholic tradition of St. Nicholas and reinforce Christmas’ true meaning.  Students get candy cane and ask him questions. 737-0744.

ARCHBISHOP RUMMEL HIGH SCHOOL, Parent Booster Club will hold its monthly Rosary Prayer Group, Dec. 11, 2018 at 7:30 am in the school chapel.  Come join us in prayer and enjoy coffee, donuts and fellowship afterwards in the teachers’ lounge. All family and friends of the Rummel community are welcome.

ST. CHRISTOPHER THE MARTYR, Evening of Reflection, Nov. 29, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in church. Members of the school choir, CYO and school will bring biblical characters to life; meditations offered by parish priests and deacon on scriptural events leading to Jesus’ birth. Reception follows in parish center. Also, a three-day retreat Dec. 4-6, 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., presented by Deacon Phil McManamon.
