The Christ in Christmas Committee has begun preparations for its annual “Keep Christ in Christmas” billboard and yard flag campaign throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans and beyond.
Individuals, companies or groups may sponsor a “Keep Christ in Christmas” billboard for $430 or send tax-deductible donations of any amount to help defray the cost of the program.
The billboard deadline is Oct. 18. Last year, the committee, founded in 1952, placed 63 billboards in the Archdiocese of New Orleans through Outdoor Media, plus another seven billboards in the Hammond area through Lamar Advertising.
Last year, the committee also sold nearly 2,500 yard flags with the “Keep Christ In Christmas” message. Individuals may order yard flags for $15 each by Sept. 15. Schools or businesses may order the flags in bulk for a group discount.
For more information on billboards or yard flags, contact Stephen Hart, committee chairman, at 615-1303 or [email protected] Order forms are online at www.keepchristinchristmasnola.org.
The Clarion Herald, the Office of Catholic Schools and the Council of Catholic School Cooperative Clubs also will sponsor a “Keep Christ in Christmas” essay, poetry and poster contest for students in Catholic elementary and high school, as well as for students attending parish schools of religion.
Information on both contests is available at www.keepchristinchristmasnola.org under the “contests” tab. Winning entries will be published in the Dec. 22 issue of the Clarion Herald.
