Three students have been named 2018 Archdiocese of New Orleans “Students of the Year.” These students were selected based on criteria that measured academic achievement, outstanding leadership skills, character and significant involvement in their schools and communities. They will represent non-public schools in the Archdiocese of New Orleans district at the regional level of competition in Baton Rouge.
Marbella Maristany, a fifth grader at Ursuline Academy in New Orleans, will represent the fifth-grade category.
Eighth grader Karen Trichell of St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace will represent eighth grade.
And senior Lillian Cerise of St. Mary’s Dominican High School will represent 12th grade.
