Young Adult Council needs donations for local human trafficking victims

The CYO/Youth and Young Adult Ministry’s Young Adult Council is collecting donations for its monthly service project in February to benefit the Free Indeed Safe House on the northshore, that helps human trafficking victims.

Members are collecting laundry detergent, dryer sheets, any non-perishable food (including pasta, canned goods, rice, sugar, flour, popcorn), dairy products, shampoo, soap, conditioner, toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, feminine products and diapers.

Items can be dropped off through Feb. 28 at the CYO Office’s first floor, 2241 Mendez St. (at Elysian Fields and Prentiss avenues), New Orleans, said Sam Pitre, Young Adult ministry director.

The next Young Adult event is Christ in the City March 6 at Notre Dame Seminary at 7 p.m. with adoration, confession, reflection time, praise and worship followed by free drinks at Rock ‘N Bowl.

The Young Adult Council was formed in August 2017 to serve the archdiocese in young adult ministry and to be an advisory council to Pitre. Call 836-0551, ext. 3228.
