Archbishop Gregory Aymond blessed the new, free-standing chapel at St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace on Jan. 30. “There’s been a lot of upgrading of the facilities – new rooms, a new belltower and a new chapel – so are you pleased with those?” the archbishop asked to applause.
“We do all of this because of you, the young church. We believe that God dwells in you, and we know that being here at St. Charles Catholic, you not only learn a lot of ‘stuff’ intellectually, but the important thing is your hearts are being formed.”
The 126-seat chapel offers a place for prayer, grade-level Masses, football team Masses, reconciliation services, living rosaries and eucharistic adoration.
