Official – December 2, 2017

In order to provide pastoral leadership for our archdiocesan ministries, Archbishop Aymond has made the following appointments effective March 1, 2018:

Joey Pistorius as Director of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic Counseling Service.

Timmy McCaffery as Director of (CYO), Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

I am very grateful to Malise Harold for her strong leadership and creativity in serving as Director of Catholic Counseling Service. She has strengthened the Catholic identity, and her oversight has ensured quality counseling for those seeking support. She has asked to be relieved of this responsibility in order to give more quality time to her husband and daughter.

Joey has provided leadership for the (CYO) Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the past two years. Under his strong leadership, the Youth Office has continued to be a very good support and resource to the parishes and schools. In December 2017, Joey will graduate from University of Holy Cross with a Master of Arts in Counseling. He will serve as a counselor and will assume administrative responsibility in coordinating the Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic Counseling Service.

Timmy has served as Associate Director of the Marriage and Family Life Ministry for our archdiocese. He and David Dawson have been a strong team and have accomplished a great deal in order for us to implement the Synod. Timmy will become the Director of the (CYO) Youth and Young Adult Ministry Office, succeeding Joey Pistorius.

I am grateful to Joey and Timmy for their willingness to assume new pastoral leadership responsibilities.

Malise will continue involvement in Catholic Counseling Service as she is available. Therefore we hope to be blessed by her collaboration, but understand her need to care for her family. Malise, we will miss you – and we are very grateful to you.
