Several different young adult organizations have announced upcoming plans.
The New Orleans chapter of Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) Executive Speaker Series will feature Craig Cuccia at Café Reconcile, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m., 1631 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., New Orleans. The event is open to young Catholic professionals ages 20-40s. RSVP: http://www.ycpneworleans.org.
The Young Catholic Professionals speaker series’ next event will be Oct. 10 at 7 p.m., with Jeff Schiefelbein, chief culture officer at the energy services firm “5” and a YCP national board member.
At all YCP events, networking, free wine, beer and appetizers start at 7 p.m., with the keynote presentation at 7:45 p.m., followed by a Q&A.
Christ in the City Northshore at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, Sept. 19, 7 p.m.
The CYO/Young Adult Ministry’s monthly “Magnify and Midnight Run” will be Sept. 20, at Mater Dolorosa, 1230 South Carrollton Ave., New Orleans. The group makes bag lunches for the homeless at 6:30 p.m., has praise and worship at 7 p.m. and then distributes lunches to the homeless in town.
The Young Adult Ministry also conducts a “Rosary in the Park” Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. Those interested are asked to meet at Morning Call in City Park.
The CYO/Youth and Young Adult Ministry Office will host a series of listening sessions between young adults and the staff of the youth and young adult ministry office to determine what’s important for young adults, what they struggle with and what and how they feel God call them in their lives. The ultimate goal is to help the office help church parishes better serve and meet the needs of today’s Catholic young adults.
Meetings are planned: Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., NorthShore Pastoral Center, 4465 Hwy. 190 East Service Road, Covington; Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., Infant Jesus Prague hall, 700 Maple Ave., Harvey; Oct. 14 at 9 a.m., St. Joan of Arc parish hall, 529 West 5th St., LaPlace; Oct. 30 at 7 p.m., St. Matthew the Apostle parish hall, 10021 Jefferson Hwy., River Ridge; Nov. 2 at 7 p.m., Our Lady of Prompt Succor parish center, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette; and Nov. 4 at 9 a.m., CYO/Youth and Young Adult Ministry Office, 2241 Mendez St., New Orleans.
