CHARLES BORROMEO, welcomes volunteers to “Labor of Love,” community service event over three days – June 26, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.; June 27, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.; June 28, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. ending with dinner and closing ceremony. Work such as painting, yardwork, flooring, interior/exterior repairs, etc., under the guidance of a licensed contractor on homes of low-income homeowners will be done with St. Charles Parish Community Services Housing Rehab Program. ST. AUGUSTINE HIGH, summer camp for boys, three sessions: July 10-14, July 17-21, July 24-28. $175 a session with a $30 registration fee that includes the camp T-shirt. The camp operates Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. St. Augustine also offers a before- and after-care package for an additional flat rate. NORTH SHORE CATHOLIC CENTER, (former Most Holy Trinity Parish site) at 4465 Hwy. 190 East Service Road, Covington, hosts an hour of adoration and contemporary Christian worship July 7, 7 p.m. Adoration and benediction accompanied by music will be followed by an opportunity for refreshment and fellowship. ROSARYVILLE SPIRIT LIFE CENTER, upcoming retreats include a free “Centering Prayer Workshop,” June 29, 6:30-9:30 p.m., with Vivien and Ed Michaels. This workshop is geared toward those who have wondered what centering prayer was about; a directed retreat “Be Still and Know that I Am God” (Ps 46), July 1-8, to let God speak words of love in an oasis of quiet and peace, directed by Dominican Sisters Mary Ann Culotta, Mary Noel and Vincentian Father Louis Arceneaux; St. Dominic’s Men’s Emmaus Retreat, July 14 at 5 p.m. to July 16 after a 5:30 p.m. Mass, open to all men (sponsored by St. Dominic Catholic Church, New Orleans).
