Camp Cabrini keeps campers active all summer

Giving boy and girl campers choice is what Camp Cabrini is doing this summer.

“What makes us different is you pick your activities,” said camp director Lisa Dubus, a Cabrini civics, World History AP teacher and social studies department chair. “There are three things going on at once during the day. That’s what parents seem to like, and campers are not forced to do things they don’t want to do.”

Five weekly sessions of Camp Cabrini are offered: May 29-June 2; June 5-9, June 12-16, June 19-23, June 26-30. Activities include fishing, arts and crafts, movies, sewing, cooking, swimming (at UNO), sports (volleyball, soccer, softball, track and field, etc.), games, field trips and a weekly Friday Extravaganza at 2:15 p.m.

Camp is open to campers entering first through seventh grades, with campers divided by age. Cost is $140 a week plus a $60 registration fee (includes two T-shirts). Registration is online beginning March 24 at www.cabrini.com (click on camp icon).
