Discernment process begins for prospective deacons

The archdiocesan Office of Diaconate is beginning the process of discernment of the next formation group which will conclude with ordination in 2022.
The process begins with a series of “Information Nights” designed to explain the complete formation process and serves as a foundational understanding of the discernment and formation for ordained ministry as a deacon.
The nights are open to any inquirer who expresses an interest in serving the people of God. If married, his wife should accompany him.
Participation in one of these evening sessions will afford him the opportunity to ascertain eligibility to enter into the more formalized “Inquiry-Discernment Gatherings” that may lead to an application for entrance into the Aspirancy Path of formation.
Attendance at only one of the gatherings listed below is required for consideration to enter the process of inquiry-discernment. The dates for the information nights are:
➤ Jan. 25, 6:30 at Corpus Christi-Epiphany Center, 2022 St. Bernard Ave., New Orleans

➤ Feb. 7, 6:30 at St. Anthony of Padua, 234 Angus Drive, Luling

➤ Feb. 15, 6:30 p.m., Infant Jesus of Prague Diaconate Center, 700 Maple St., Harvey
