Academy of Our Lady Student Council hosts a ‘Color Run’

Academy of Our Lady’s Student Council hosted a Color Run Nov. 5 to benefit the nonprofit organization, Cleft for a Cause. More than 175 people throughout the community participated in the 5K race, where runners were covered with colored powder along the course on the school’s Marrero campus. Students raised $2,500 to help the nonprofit provide necessities for children in need of cleft-palate reconstructive surgeries. Cleft for a Cause (www.cleftforacause.org ) provides funds for expenses for patients and families.
