High school admissions process set

    The Office of Catholic Schools has issued a checklist regarding the admissions process for parents and students who are choosing one of 22 high schools in the Archdiocese of New Orleans for the 2013-14 year.
    ➤ Open houses: Held at respective high schools in October and November.
    ➤ Date application form available: Nov. 12. Students may download an application form from the archdiocesan Web site – www.arch-no.org – or obtain one from any Catholic elementary school principal.
    ➤ Application deadline: Nov. 14. Students attending an archdiocesan Catholic elementary school should turn in the completed application form to their principal by this date. Students not in an archdiocesan elementary school should send the form with copies of school records to the high school of their choice by this date.
    ➤ Application Day: Jan. 12, 2013, at 8 a.m. All applicants (including students granted deferred admission for ninth grade) must attend Application Day at their selected high school. A $20 application fee is payable on Application Day to the school.
    ➤ Decision letters mailed by high schools to notify applicants of acceptance status: Feb. 19, 2013.
    ➤ Invitations to apply to other schools: Feb. 21, 2013. Students not accepted by their selected high school may be mailed an “Invitation to Apply” to other schools and begin applying to any other high school in the archdiocese.
