Deacon Ian M. Bozant – Theology IV

Age: 25

Seminary year: 4th Theology, Notre Dame Seminary

Home Parish: Our Lady of Lourdes, Slidell

Elementary School: Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Chalmette

High School: Holy Cross High School/Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Confirmation saint: St. Jude Thaddeus

Why did you choose this saint?: He is the patron saint of desperate cases, and I saw myself as a desperate case when I was in high school. I entrusted my spiritual life to his intercession so that he would lead me to a deeper relationship with our Blessed Lord and his holy Church.

Favorite food: Seafood

Favorite Religious book: “The Soul of the Apostolate” by Dom Jean-Baptiste Chautard; “The Literal Exposition of Job” by St. Thomas Aquinas; “The Story of a Soul” by St. Therese of Lisieux

Favorite Secular book: “Crime and Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoevsky and “Silence” by Shusaku Endo

Favorite Religious Movie: “Becket” (1964) and “A Man for All Seasons” (1966)

Favorite Secular Movie: “Patton” (1970)

Favorite TV Show: “Monk”

Favorite Feast of the Church: Aside from the Easter Triduum, my favorites are the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Sept. 14) and the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows (Sept. 15)

Would you rather walk, run, bike or swim? Walk

Would you rather cook or go out to eat? Go out to eat (I can’t cook, sadly.)

Would you rather vacation at the beach or in the mountains? I do not enjoy the beach and I am not a huge fan of mountains, either; but it if I had to choose, I’d rather a vacation in the mountains.

What else would you like to share? I am a triplet – two sisters in addition to me. I enjoy classical music, with my favorite composer being Johann Sebastian Bach, and I also enjoy Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony. My favorite saints include St. Therese of Lisieux, Pope St. Pius X, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Thomas More.
