CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE
     Father Gerald L. Seiler has asked to be relieved of his ministry as Chancellor in order that he can give his full attention to the pastoral care of the people of St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Metairie. We are profoundly grateful for his 17 years of dedicated and faithful service in archdiocesan administration, which has included the ministry of Chancellor and Executive Director of Pastoral Services. I, along with many others, appreciate you, Father Seiler, and are grateful for all that you have given to serve the Archdiocese of New Orleans. We admire your dedication to the pastoral governance of the archdiocese and your commitment to the people of your parish.
    Father Seiler’s request will be effective July 1, 2013. Very Reverend Peter O. Akpoghiran, J.C.L., will assume the ministry of Chancellor while continuing his service as Judicial Vicar, effective July 1, 2013.

    Reverend Jeffrey A. Montz, to the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Rome, Italy, for studies in order to pursue a degree in Spiritual Theology, effective July 1, 2013.
    Reverend Sergio Serrano, O.P., as Director of the Hispanic Apostolate and Chaplain to the Catholic Charismatic Community, effective July 1, 2013.

    After appropriate consultation, Archbishop Aymond is pleased to announce the following appointment:
    Ansel Augustine as Director of the Office of Black Catholic Ministry, effective July 1, 2013.
    Since 2011, Ansel has served as the Associate Director of the CYO/Young Adult Ministry Office and Coordinator of Black Youth and Young Adult Ministry. He has earned a B.A. degree in Sociology from Loyola University New Orleans, an M.A. in Pastoral Studies/Youth Ministry from the Loyola Institute for Ministry, and a Certification in Youth Ministry from the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University, New Orleans
