ARCHBISHOP CHAPELLE, faculty member Elena Perdomo of Metairie received the school’s 2011-12 Distinguished Educator Award, established this year to honor a faculty or staff member who exemplifies the values of the Catholic Church while setting a standard of excellence amongst their colleagues and serving as a role model for our students. She received a bouquet of flowers and a $1,000 check. Perdomo has taught Spanish and French at Archbishop Chapelle for more than 40 years and has traveled during the summer to Europe with a group of students for the past 15 years.
Also, several members of the faculty and staff recently were recognized for their years of service to the school. They are: Kathy Lagasse (30 years), Mary Beth Drez (30 years), Sue Ellington (30 years), Cheryl Anderson (10 years), Annette Thibodeaux (20 years), Christina Schlaudecker (10 years), Nancy Larousse (10 years), Barbara Achee Landry ’74 (10 years) and Joann Haydel (10 years).
