Archbishop Gregory Aymond will again lead the children of the world during the ninth annual “Worldwide Children’s Eucharistic Holy Hour” Oct. 7 at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
Elementary and high schools in the Archdiocese of New Orleans are invited to join the archbishop in this prayer, which begins at 9 a.m. CDT.
The Eucharistic Holy Hour will include adoration, the prayer of Fatima, the crowning of a statue of the Blessed Mother and solemn benediction. EWTN will broadcast the Holy Hour Live to more than 140 different nations.

Upon the archbishop’s return to New Orleans, a spiritual gift will be given to him with each school’s level of participation.

➤ Who: All primary and secondary Catholic school students, faculty and staff.
➤ What: An opportunity to bring children before Christ in his Eucharist and spend some time with him in adoration.
➤ Where: The churches and chapels of our Catholic schools.
➤ When: Worldwide Holy Hour begins 9 a.m. CDT on Oct. 7, but students can take part any time during the school day.
➤ Why: To spiritually unite our children and schools with Christ under the leadership of our chief shepherd, the archbishop.
How to participate
➤ Go to ChildrenOfThe Eucharist.org and click
“Levels of Participation.”
➤ With your DREs and CREs, decide how your school will participate. Let the archdiocesan Office of Eucharistic Renewal know how you will participate, as the office will be reporting participation to the archbishop as a spiritual gift.
➤ Invite your pastors and chaplains to take part.
