Good Friday ‘walk’ options range from 9 to 14 churches
Many Catholics make a special devotion on Good Friday by walking to nine churches to offer silent prayers and reflect on the passion and death of Jesus Christ. Some have expanded that list to 14 churches, praying one Station of the Cross at each church. This map provides an easy guide for a Good Friday pilgrimage. One rule of thumb is that the St. Charles Avenue streetcar can be used as a mode of transportation back to St. Stephen’s Church after completing the nine- or 14-church walk. Feel free to make up your own devotional route.
(PLEASE NOTE: Our Lady of Good Counsel Church is currently closed for renovations, but pilgrims may pray ouside the church.)
