TOWN OF BETHLEHEM FONTANINI DISPLAY, Christ the King Parish Church continues legacy of deceased Father Jose Ladra, now encompassing an 18-foot-by-18-foot space. ASCENSION OF OUR LORD, Knights of Columbus Council 9623 is giving away a one-week vacation to one of multiple destinations. JOSEPH ALTAR LECTURE, Jan. 27, St. Tammany Parish Library, 1123 Main St., Madisonville, Jan. 27, 10 a.m.-noon; and 2-4 p.m. Historian Sandra Scalise Juneau will present two, free lectures on the tradition of St. Joseph altars, trace the history, explain the symbolism of this ancient tradition as brought to Louisiana by Sicilian immigrants and demonstrate the intricate technique of carving “Cuccidata” (fig cake designs).
